Ukrainian farmers completed the 2025 spring sowing campaign
As of early June 2025, farmers in all regions of Ukraine completed the sowing campaign, having sown 5.6 million hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops, which corresponds to the indicators of 2024. The highest sowing rates were demonstrated by Poltava, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy and Sumy regions.
This year, farmers increased the area under spring wheat to 220 thousand hectares, which is due to growing demand from processing enterprises and exporters. In addition, 7.7 million hectares are allocated for technical crops, of which 4.9 million hectares are occupied by sunflower, and 2.3 million hectares are soybeans. The structure of sown areas in the controlled territories of Ukraine remained stable compared to last year, ensuring both domestic food security and export potential.
Harvest Preservation: The Role of Modern Silos
To ensure high-quality storage of harvested grain, Ukrainian farmers are increasingly turning to modern solutions, such as silos from Bentall Rowlands. These silos allow for effective storage of grain and leguminous crops, protecting them from moisture, pests and other external factors. Thanks to their high strength, durability and well-thought-out ventilation system, Bentall Rowlands silos provide optimal conditions for long-term storage of the crop, which is critically important for maintaining food security and export potential of Ukraine.
