Development of oil processing in Ukraine
The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval, speaking at the XXII International Conference “Fat-and-Oil Industry-2024” on October 30 in Kyiv, emphasized that the future of the Ukrainian oil and fat industry lies in deep processing. He noted that the main priorities of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy include European integration, opening of new markets, support for farmers in the frontline territories, development of animal husbandry and deep processing.
According to the minister, the oil industry of Ukraine occupies a leading position in deep processing and significantly affects the export of agricultural products. Thus, the share of export of oilseeds is 12.3%, and sunflower oil – 21%. It is important to continue increasing the added value of products so that exports are more profitable than raw materials. High-tech products are in great demand in the world, and Ukraine must transform from an agrarian country into an agro-industrial one.
In addition, the minister noted that in order to increase the efficiency and quality of products, express analyzers of oil crops. These technologies make it possible to quickly and accurately determine the content of oil and other important indicators, which helps to increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian products on the world market.
