Ukraine is among the top three global grain exporters

Ukraine is consistently among the top ten world producers of grain crops, and is also one of the three leading exporters of these agricultural products.

This statement was made in an interview with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

According to the President, Ukraine has every chance to occupy a significantly larger share of the grain market. Due to the fact that the annual increase in the population of our planet amounts to 90.000.000 people, the demand for grain crops is also growing. This is the growth option for the Ukrainian grain market.

It should be added that last year the grain harvest reached 70.000.000 tons.

Today it is an absolute historical maximum. Never before have such harvests been collected in Ukraine, even under a collective farm system.

In addition, the President stressed that Ukraine is the number one exporter of sunflower oil, providing more than half of exports worldwide.

Ukraine continues to strengthen its position in the global grain market and is now among the top three largest grain exporters in the world. According to a report published in February 2019, Ukraine’s grain exports reached 43.9 million tonnes in 2018. This means that Ukraine continues to successfully compete with other major exporters, such as the United States and Russia. Strengthening its position in the global grain market can have a positive impact on the country’s economy, increasing export volumes and improving financial indicators. However, it is important to consider possible factors that may affect the global grain market, such as changes in the world economy, political events, and weather conditions.
