Supplies of soybean meal from Ukraine to foreign markets in 17/18 MY increased by 22%

During the period from September 2017 to August 2018, more than 353.000 tons of soybean meal was exported from Ukraine, which is 22% more than the export sales figures of the previous year. Also, this indicator became the historical maximum.

In August of this year, 17.6 thousand tons were shipped, whereas in July the shipment was 19.6 thousand tons, and in August of the last year 11.7 thousand tons were shipped.

It should also be noted that according to experts, in the new MY, Ukraine’s potential to supply soybean meal abroad may double.

The main importers of this product are the countries of the European Union, Belarus, Georgia and Azerbaijan. Also, in 17/18 MY, meal was delivered to the following countries for the first time: Uganda, South Africa and Philippines.

Ukrainian soybean meal exports increased by 22% to foreign markets in 2017-2018. This growth is attributed to the increase in soybean production and processing in Ukraine. The increase in soybean meal exports is an important source of income for the country’s agricultural sector and contributes to its position in the global market. Additionally, soybean meal is a critical component of animal and poultry feed, promoting productivity in livestock and poultry farming in Ukraine. Ukraine continues to develop its agricultural sector, increasing soybean production and soybean meal to meet demand in both domestic and international markets.
