The amount of grain reserves in Kazakhstan is more than last year
The last 6 years in Kazakhstan has been observed a following trend: from year to year, the quantity of grain as of January 1 is growing. The indicator as of January 1, 2018 took the second place, second only to the indicator of 2012. Then in the bins of Kazakhstan, there were 20.5 million tons of grain, which was due to a really record harvest of 2011. During that year, 27 million tons of grain were harvested in Kazakhstan. Taking into account the fact that the transport infrastructure was then in worse condition than it is today, a large harvest was indeed a problem.
Then the government subsidized the transportation of grain and thus an additional 2.5 million tons were exported.
Starting from 2015, the quantity of reserves as of January 1 is constantly growing and the difference between the indicators of the previous year and the current year continues to grow. Thus, the difference in the amount of reserves in 2015 and 2016 was 645 thousand tons, in 2016 and 2017 – 1.019 million tons, and in 2017 and 2018 – 1.35 million tons.
It should be recalled that as of December 1, 17.7 million tons of grain were in the bins of Kazakhstan, whereas as of January 1, 2018, 16.1 million tons of grain were in the granaries of Kazakhstan. The latest data on grain stocks in Kazakhstan is pleasing to the country’s agricultural industry. According to the latest reports, grain stocks are well above last year’s figures.
