Kazakhstan expands grain processing
As part of the implementation of the agro-industrial program, the government of Kazakhstan announced the launch of five new plants for deep processing of grain crops – wheat and corn, with a capacity of 4.8 million tons per year. According to the Minister of Agriculture, total investments in the projects will amount to $2.6 billion, and the implementation of the project will create about 3.3 thousand jobs. Currently, three such enterprises operate in the country with an annual capacity of approximately 510 thousand tons, the products of which are starch, gluten, molasses, bioethanol.
The role of modern silos in the implementation of plans
To ensure reliable storage of grain and finished raw materials for new plants, it is important to modernize the storage infrastructure. In particular, Bentall Rowlands silos are a flexible solution that includes silos with a flat or conical bottom, rectangular bunkers and equipment for grain conditioning. This equipment is made of galvanized steel Z600 – resistant to corrosion and moisture, which is important for grain storage. They have different volumes – from small farm to large elevator: flat bottom up to ~17,483 m³, conical bottom up to ~2,165 m³.
Integration of such modern silos into new and existing elevator schemes allows:
- to store large volumes of grain and processed raw materials without losses;
- to effectively plan the logistics of supplies to processing plants;
- to ensure the proper quality of grain required for the production of starch, glucose-fructose syrups, bioethanol, gluten, etc.
The launch of five new plants in Kazakhstan is an important step towards the modernization of the agricultural sector and the expansion of grain processing. However, for these projects to be effective in the long term, a reliable grain storage infrastructure is needed. Modern silos from Bentall Rowlands from 3S Company come to the rescue here: they guarantee safety and preservation of grain quality. The use of such solutions increases the profitability of projects and improves the material base of agricultural enterprises.
