Construction of a new container terminal in Fastiv (Ukraine)
Levada Cargo, a member of the Lemtrans Group, plans to build a modern container terminal in Fastiv, Kyiv region. This was announced by the company’s terminal network development director Oleksandr Tkachuk during the Economic Forum 2025: “Platform for Development”. According to him, the terminal will be a strategic link in the development of transport logistics in the region, as it will allow optimizing logistics chains, expanding the export capabilities of Ukrainian producers of agricultural products and other goods, and creating conditions for the integration of local business into world trade.
The new terminal (“dry port”) will be equipped with modern technologies for cargo processing. In particular, it is planned to use specialized devices for grain quality analysis, which will allow for quick and accurate sampling of grain crops directly at the terminal. Such equipment will ensure that the cargo meets international quality standards. Container loading will be carried out using automated systems that minimize time loss and increase the efficiency of logistics processes.
Let us recall that in 2024, the Lemtrans Group invested UAH 478 million in logistics and infrastructure projects, which is three times more than in 2023. The main emphasis was placed on the development of the terminal and container business, where the amount of investment amounted to UAH 441 million. In September 2024, Lemtrans completed the first stage of construction of the Vinnytsia Container Terminal, and at the end of the year – the second stage.
The Vinnytsia Container Terminal (CTT) has become a key logistics link for transportation in central Ukraine. Its throughput capacity is about 20 thousand. TEU per year, and the main cargoes are niche grains and bulk cargoes, including oil. The terminal also uses advanced grain sampling methods using automatic samplers and laboratory equipment for quality analysis, which guarantees that the cargo meets export requirements. The process of loading containers onto the KTV has been optimized thanks to modern cranes and conveyor systems that ensure fast and safe filling. Investments in the project amounted to about $15 million.
The KTV has already received its first train in cooperation with UZ CARGO POLAND and the Lisky Transport Service Center of JSC UZ. The first cargo shipment exceeded 60 TEU. A regular service connects the Polish port of Gdansk with the KTV, and shippers have the opportunity to send containers to the terminals of Greater Odessa. In the future, it is planned to establish rail transportation to Germany, Belgium, France, Italy and the Netherlands.
