Application

This device makes it possible to determine the brewing value of malt easily and quickly. In addition, Friabilimeter will allow you to evaluate the quality of the malt immediately after drying. The advantage is that knowing the quality after drying, you can detect and correct irregularities in the malting process.

Operation

The principle of analysis is the mechanical separation of malt into hard and crumbly parts. To do this, grains are pressed into a rotating wire mesh using a rubber-coated roller. The sample volume is 50 g. The sample must be weighed and put into the device. The whole process takes 8 minutes. After separation, the crumbly parts fall out through a sieve, and hard parts remain inside the drum. Then you need to weigh solid parts and calculate the value of friability.

Hyaline

Using this device, you can also determine the value of hyaline. Elevated hyaline negatively affects the mashing, filtering, wort clarification and fermentation processes.

Calibration

Friabilimeter settings can be checked with a references malt with a known friability value. The device is set up using the screw on the top of the housing.
