The export of cereals this year reached a level of 25.880.000 t, which is in comparison with the figures of the previous year decreased by 2.610.000 t.

Such information was provided by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

Also, during this period 12.700.000 t of wheat were exported, which is also less than last year’s figures. During the same period last year, exports of this crop were almost 600.000 t more.

The exports of the other cereals were 3.980.000 t of barley, 9.080.000 t of corn and 16.800 t of rye. In the export of all these crops, there is a decrease. So, during the same period, 613.000 t less barley and 1.300.000 t less corn was exported.

In 2017-2018, the export of grain crops from Ukraine reached a level of 41.9 million tons, which is 2.6 million tons more than in the previous season. The main buyers of Ukrainian grain crops are countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa. The increase in export volumes may contribute to an increase in export revenues and strengthen Ukraine’s foreign economic ties. However, there are also risks associated with increased competition in global markets and lower prices for grain crops. This could negatively affect the economic situation of some producers in Ukraine, but could lead to an increase in the overall volume of production and export of grain crops.
