The increase in the sunflower harvest is expected in Ukraine

According to the analysts of UkrAgroConsult, the harvest of sunflower this year may amount to 14.2-14.5 million tons.

Such information was provided by analysts of UkrAgroConsult.

With regard to the area allocated for sunflower, there are two options: the area may remain at the level of the previous year, which is 5.4 million hectares, or expand to 6.6 million hectares. Growth in the areas under this culture can be achieved by reducing the areas under corn and barley.

Rape harvest is expected at a level of 2.4-2.5 million tons, while sowing areas under soybeans are expected to decline to 1.85 million hectares. It should be recalled that last year the territory allocated for this culture was 1.99 million hectares, and the harvest reached 3.7 million tons.

It should also be recalled that, according to forecasts of the analyst the areas for oilseeds will be increased to 9.3 million hectares in the next marketing season.

Ukraine is one of the largest producers of sunflower in the world, but the yield on its farms is lower than that of other producers. However, with the help of new technologies and soil improvement, Ukrainian farmers can significantly increase the yield of their farms.

One promising technology is precision farming, which optimizes the use of fertilizers and insecticides on the farm. This helps to increase yield and reduce production costs.

Soil improvement can also lead to increased sunflower yield. The use of compost, green manure, and microorganisms on farms helps to retain nutrients in the soil and increase its fertility.

Increasing sunflower yield in Ukraine will be beneficial for the country’s economy and its position in the global market. Ukraine is a major exporter of sunflower, and increasing yield can help meet the growing demand for this crop in the world.

However, it is necessary to take into account the variability of the global market and take measures to maintain export stability. It is important to continue to develop agriculture and implement new technologies to increase production efficiency and strengthen Ukraine’s economic position in the global agricultural arena.
