Producers of agricultural products in the East-Kazakhstan region have already opened the season of preparation for the approaching sowing campaign.

In the current year, the area allocated for crops in this region is more than 1.357 million hectares. Under the spring sowings, 1.093 million hectares were allocated from the total amount, and about 31 thousand hectares were allocated for winter crops. Also, 234 thousand hectares are occupied by the sowings of perennial grasses. In comparison with last year, the number of areas allocated for crops will increase by 41 thousand hectares. In addition, it is worth mentioning that the technology of moisture retention will be applied om an area of 481 thousand hectares.

The structure of crops sowings this year will be as follows. About 600 thousand hectares are allocated for cereals, which is 44% of the total areas. Oilseeds will be sown on the territory of 413 thousand hectares, which is approximately 31%. About 312 thousand hectarea, or 23% are allocated for fodder crops.

Farmers in the East Kazakhstan region are actively preparing for the upcoming sowing season. They are conducting preparatory work in the fields and purchasing seeds and fertilizers. Special attention is paid to choosing optimal varieties of grains and seeding technology.
