In the North-Kazakhstan region, work is required to preserve the moisture in the fields

The akim of the North-Kazakhstan region held a meeting with the heads of the districts about the readiness for the spring field work.

According to the head of the region, until May 15 (the start of the planting season), farmers must actively prepare to the field works which involves inspecting and repairing the machine and tractor fleet, and the possible renewal of agricultural machinery. He also stressed that soon the issue of lowering the interest rate for the purchase of new equipment from 14.5% to 6-7% will be brought up for discussion.

However, that’s not all. Considering the fact that this winter there was very little precipitation, namely 69%, while the average figure is 80-100 mm. In order not to lose this moisture in the soil, one should immediately apply the procedures for maintaining moisture in the soil.

In addition, it is necessary to remember seed dressing, because the deterioration of yields is affected not only by insufficient moisture, but also by weeds and diseases.

Northern Kazakhstan is one of the key producers of grain crops in Kazakhstan. However, due to the region’s climatic conditions, preserving moisture in the fields is critically important. Many factors, such as high temperatures and insufficient rainfall, can lead to soil fertility deterioration and reduced crop yield. Conducting work to preserve moisture in the fields, such as mulching, planting cover crops, and using specialized irrigation systems, are effective methods to address these problems. It is important for both government and private enterprises to pay proper attention to these issues to ensure the stable development of agriculture in the Northern Kazakhstan region.
