More than 73% of the area is harvested in North Kazakhstan
Agricultural producers in the North-Kazakhstan region are engaged in harvesting grain at full capacity, while weather conditions allow, especially taking into account the fact that in the near future rain is forecast again.
According to information from the local representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, the harvesting campaign was completed at 2.06 million hectares, which is 73.6% of the planned territories.
The average yield is 1.63 tons per hectare. As of September 27, the harvest is 3.36 million tons of grain. However, compared to last year, the harvesting campaign lags behind by 23%. As of the indicated date of the previous year, 5.35 million tons were harvested, and the yield was 1.8 tons per hectare.
This year, 4.23 million hectares were allocated for agricultural crops. Among this amount of hectares, 2.8 million hectares were allocated for grain crops, and 0.97 million hectares for oilseeds.
In 2018, the harvesting of grain crops on over 73% of the land in Northern Kazakhstan was successfully completed. This result is one of the best in recent years and was achieved thanks to the effective work of agricultural enterprises, as well as favorable weather conditions. The successful harvest of grain crops in Northern Kazakhstan is an important step towards strengthening the region’s agricultural sector and creating favorable conditions for increasing grain exports. The region continues to invest in the development of agriculture and the increase of productivity in the grain sector to strengthen its position in the grain market.
