The results of the year showed an increase in the volume of agricultural production by 2.3%. In 2017, the production of agricultural products worth 510.6 billion KZT.

During the period from January to October, foreign trade turnover amounted to 50.4 million dollars, and the increase during the reporting period was 14.5 million dollars.

The head of the region reports that works on diversification of the sown areas are still being carried out.

Last year, the increase in areas for oilseeds was 40%, this year it is planned to increase this area by 41% and thus the area allocated for oilseeds will be 1 million hectares. Such an increase will give an opportunity to get 60-70 billion KZT more, which in turn will lead to an increase in labour productivity, as well as an increase in wages.

It should be recalled that in 2017 in the North-Kazakhstan region it was possible to harvest 5.6 million tons of grain, while the average yield was 18.2 centners per hectare.

The head of the region also said that this year it is planned to update the fleet of equipment and purchase 1310 units of new equipment.

The North Kazakhstan region is seeing an increase in sowing areas for more profitable crops, such as sunflower and soybeans. This could lead to an increase in profitability for agricultural enterprises and the development of the region’s economy. However, there are also risks associated with changing climatic conditions and a shortage of qualified personnel in agriculture. This could lead to a decrease in crop yields and a worsening of the region’s economic situation. Effective support measures are needed to increase agricultural profitability and promote regional development.
