
In Russia almost 70% of areas allocated for spring crops have already been sown
As of 20.05.2021 spring crops have been sown in Russia on 35 million hectares (68% of the planned area). Spring cereals have been sown on 20 million hectares (65% of the planned area) of which: wheat – over 8 million hectares (65%), spring barley – nearly 6 million hectares (77%), grain maize – over 2 million hectares (83%), rice – 116 thousand hectares (61%).
Considering oilseeds sowing on 20.05.2021: sunflowers – almost 7 million hectares (79%), spring rape – 925 thousand hectares (75%), soy – 1 million hectares (39%).
Sugar beet was sown on 968 thousand hectares (91% of the plan).
