In Russia, 10% of the planned areas have already been sown with spring crops
As of 26.04.2021, 4.5 million hectares (almost 9% of the plan) are sown with spring crops throughout the territory of the Russian Federation.
Spring crops have been sown on 3.11 million hectares – that is 11% of the planned area, where:
Spring wheat – 570 thousand hectares (4.5% of the plan);
Spring barley – 1.4 million hectares (19%);
Grain maize- 182 thousand hectares (6.5%);
Rice – 200 hectares (0.1%).
As for oilseeds:
Sunflower – 348 thousand hectares (4% of the plan);
Spring rapeseed – 63 thousand hectares (5%);
Soybeans – 8 thousand hectares (0.3%).
Sugar beet was sown on 317 thousand hectares (30% of the planned).
Supplementary fertilizing of winter cereals as of the reporting date was carried out on 15 million hectares (77% of the sown area).
