During the period from 01.01 to 31.01, 1.300.000 tons of grain were transported by rail in Kazakhstan
During this period, freight turnover by rail reached almost 18 billion ton-kilometers, which is 3% more than it was shipped in January of the previous year.
Such information was provided by the management of the railway.
During the first month of this year, 1.300.000 tons of grain crops were shipped, which is 18% more than last year. Export shipments amounted to 1.000.000 tons, inclusive, which exceeds last year’s figure by 22%.
It should be added that the volume of ground products reached 300.000 tons.
It should be recalled that according to the forecasts of the Ministry of Agriculture, the volume of grain exports in 18/19 MY (from July last year to July of the current year) will amount to 9 million tons.
According to statistics, more than 1.3 million tons of grain were transported by railway in Kazakhstan in January 2019. This result indicates an increase in demand for grain transportation and strengthening of the position of railway transport in the market of agricultural product transportation. The positive dynamics of grain transportation by railway can contribute to the improvement of the economic situation in agriculture, creating new jobs and increasing export volumes. However, it is necessary to consider possible risks, such as changes in the global economy and weather conditions, which can affect grain production and export volumes in Kazakhstan.
