In Kazakhstan, crops were sown at 35.6% of the area
As of today, in the south of Kazakhstan, pre-sowing soil cultivation was carried out on the territory of almost 376 thousand hectares.
In addition, on the territory of 156.5 thousand hectares, spring crops were sown, which is 35.6% of the total area allocated for sowing.
It should also be recalled that this year, the total area allocated for cereals will be 14.7 million hectares.
The area under cultivation is:
- for wheat – 11.4 million hectares (-0.54 million hectares in comparison with the last year);
- for grain fodder crops – 2.5 million hectares (+49 thousand hectares in comparison with the last year);
- for oilseeds – 2.6 million hectares.
Kazakhstan is one of the largest producers and exporters of cereal crops in the world. This year, the area planted with cereal crops has increased, indicating a growing interest in cereal farming in the country.
