Considering the growth in the production of this crop, the export figures also began to grow.

During the period from September to December of the current marketing year, 25.000 tons of rice were exported from Kazakhstan, which is 63% higher than during the same period in the past year.

Such information was provided by the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

It should be added that the export figures during the previous season amounted to approximately 15.3 thousand tons.

The main consumers of rice from Kazakhstan during the reporting period were such states as Tajikistan, Ukraine, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Azejbardjan.

It should be recalled that in 2017 the production of this crop reached 185.7 thousand tons, which is 3.3% higher than the figure in the past MY. The main region producing rice in the Republic is the Kyzyloroda region. Thus, the sown area for this grain in 2017 reached a level of 90 thousand hectares, which exceeds the indicator of 2016 by 10 thousand hectares. In the main rice-growing region, the yields reached 174.900 tons, which is 3.1% more than it was harvested last year.
