Kazakhstan expects an increase in the amount of sunflower
According to the statement of the head of the department of climatology, the yield of spring wheat can fall to 63-91% of the current yield by 2030, and by 2050 the yield can fall to 51-87% of the current figure. Also, it is necessary to take into account the fact that if the level of farming remains the same, then the yield will decrease to 13-49% in the whole country.
The main consequence of climate change will be a rise in temperature, according to various forecasts, by 1.7-1.9 degrees during the next 20 years, from 2020 to 2040 and by 2.4-3.1 degrees from 2040 to 2060. Also, climatologists assume changes in precipitation. It is assumed that the total annual rainfall will increase, but this applies only to seasons such as autumn, winter and spring. But in summer, when the amount of precipitation is critical to the survival of plants, according to forecasts, the precipitation level will decrease by 10%.
Also, climatologists believe that such a rise in temperature is not acceptable for growing spring wheat in the main grain regions of Kazakhstan. According to forecasts of specialists, the harvest will decrease to the level of 51-77% according to different data and depending on the region.
What do the scientists advice? In their opinion, such climatic changes are absolutely favorable for the cultivation of such a crop as sunflower.
According to different data, in conditions of changing climatic conditions, the yield of sunflower will be 100-109% at the present level of farming. But more importantly, if the methods of agriculture are modernized, this figure will be considerably increased.
An increase in the sunflower harvest in Kazakhstan is predicted
According to experts, an increase in the sunflower harvest is expected in Kazakhstan this season. This is due to the improvement of weather conditions in many parts of the country and the use of modern technologies in agriculture.
The sunflower harvest is an important component of Kazakhstan’s economy, as it is one of the main export products. In addition, sunflower is used as feed for livestock and poultry, which is also a significant factor for the country’s agriculture.
It is expected that an increase in the sunflower crop in Kazakhstan will lead to an increase in the export of this crop. This may be a positive signal for domestic producers and exporters, as it opens up new opportunities for expanding their business projects.
At the same time, an increase in the sunflower crop may also lead to a decrease in prices for this crop on the world market. This may have a negative impact on the income of domestic producers and exporters, which may be caused by competition from other producers and exporters.
