The highest grain yield in Kazakhstan is in Akmola region

According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture, the harvest in the Akmola region this year exceeds last year’s figures by 480.000 t. So, this year 5.611.500 tons were harvested, whereas last year the amount of grain harvested from fields amounted to 5.123.900 t.

In addition, the yield of grain crops also increased this year. The increase was 1.2 c/ha, while the average yield reached 1.3 tons per hectare.

In 2018, spring crops were sown on an area of 4.700.000 ha, among which 4.300.000 ha were allocated for grain. The main crop for this region is spring wheat, with 3.7 million hectares allotted for it.

The territory allotted for oilseeds reached 258.4 thousand hectares.

In 2018, the Akmolinsk region of Kazakhstan became the leader in grain yield. Thanks to a fortunate combination of climatic conditions and quality soil preparation, the grain yield reached a record high of 50 million tons. This gave a significant boost to the development of the region’s economy and the country as a whole. One of the key factors in this success was the use of new agricultural technologies, which increased labor productivity and reduced production costs. Currently, the Kazakhstani authorities actively support the development of the agricultural sector to ensure stable economic growth and strengthen the country’s position on the global stage.
