In 2018/19 MY the volume of cereal consumption in the world is expected at the level of 2.64 billion tons

According to the FAO forecast, the volume of cereal crops consumption in the world in the next MY will increase by 26.5 million tons, which in percentage terms is 1% to 2.64 billion tons.

Such information was taken from the FAO report.

In general, in the next MY an increase in cereal consumption for both feed and for industrial purposes is forecasted, which is due to the overall increase in demand for food products.

It should also be recalled that about one-third of all food products produced in the world are lost or damaged.

In the 2018-19 season, the volume of grain consumption worldwide is expected to reach 2.64 billion tons. This is due to the increase in consumption of grain crops in various countries, especially in Asia and Africa. The increase in grain consumption is also related to population growth and the increasing demand for food products. The largest producers and consumers of grain are the USA, China, India, the EU, and Brazil. However, despite the growth in grain consumption, there is a competitive struggle among different producers in the world market, leading to fluctuations in grain prices and market instability. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly improve production technologies and enhance the quality of products to maintain competitiveness in the global grain market.
