In 2017, 13.5 million tons of grain and products of its processing were transported by rail in Kazakhstan
The head of the railway at the last meeting of the outgoing year summed up the results of cargo transportation. Therefore, for 2017 the total volume of cargo transportation amounted to 242 million tons, which is 12% higher than the same indicator of 2016.
The results of the transportation of grain in the past year are as follows. Therefore, in 2017 it was possible to transport 13.5 million tons of grain and products of its processing. In total, 8.9 million tons of grain were transported, which is 104% compared to the same indicator of 2016. In addition, 3.2 million tons of products of grain processing were transported, which is 112% compared to the same indicator of 2016.
Indicators of transit transportation by rail amounted to 16 million tons, which exceeds the same indicator of 2016 by 23%.
Summing up the results of the year, the head of the company said that in general, the indicators of the outgoing year can be called quite satisfactory, and that during the year we observed a tendency to increase in the volume of cargo transportations, as well as a trend towards the development of transport and logistics infrastructure.
The company plans in 2018 to tirelessly increase the transportation volumes.
