«Ukrzaliznytsia» will revise the list of inefficient stations
«Ukrzaliznytsia» took into account the arguments presented by the grain market participants regarding the list of inefficient stations.
Such information was provided by the Ukrainian Grain Association.
Also, for a thorough and accurate analysis of inefficient stations, it is necessary to take into account the indicators of cereal production in each particular district. This is also necessary in order to plan the loading operations at these stations.
Now, UGA and «Ukrzaliznytsia» are working together to identify these stations. Involvement of UGA is necessary for the analysis of the stations chosen by Ukrzaliznytsia, as UGA has a thorough information about the storage capacities in the vicinity of certain stations, as well as the production capacities of a particular region. Ukrzaliznytsia, in turn, showed loyalty to the representatives of the agricultural sector and took into account the data provided about some stations.
It is necessary to add that the optimization will over those stations where there are no capacities for storing grain, as well as stations that are a short distance from each other.
It should be recalled that the transport capacity of Ukrzaliznytsia is about 47 million tons of grain.
Ukrzaliznytsia is starting to review the list of inefficient stations as part of the program to reform Ukraine’s railway industry. The goal of the program is to improve the quality and efficiency of railway transportation. Reviewing the list of stations will optimize their work and reduce the costs of maintaining unprofitable facilities. In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia has already taken a number of measures to improve the industry, including upgrading technical equipment and infrastructure, improving the qualifications of personnel, and implementing modern information technologies. Overall, the review of the list of inefficient stations and other measures to reform Ukraine’s railway industry are aimed at increasing its competitiveness and developing the country’s economy.
