The sowing campaign of spring crops has started in half of the regions of the Russian Federation

As of April 20, the sowing campaign started in the Southern and North-Caucasian regions, partially in the Central, Northwestern, Far Eastern and Volga districts. Overall, 41 regions of the Russian Federation have begun work in the fields.

Currently, spring sowing is performed on 5% of planned areas (2.7 million hectares).

In total, 1.8 million hectares of spring crops have been sown (6% of the plan).

Sowing by crops separately:

Spring wheat – 34 thousand hectares (2.5% of the plan),

Spring barley – 918 thousand hectares (2%),

Corn and wheat – 47 thousand hectares (1.7%),

Sunflower – 160 thousand hectares (2%),

Spring rape – 20 thousand hectares (1.6%),

Soybean – 5.4 thousand hectares (0.2%),

Sugar beet – 201 thousand hectares (19%).

Fertilizing of cereal crops was carried out on 13 million hectares (67% of the sowing area).
