As of April 18, information was received that the area under spring crops was 343.3 thousand hectares, which is 2.4% of the total area for the planned crop (14.3 million hectares).

This information was obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

Now spring crops are sown in the southern regions of the country. Thus, 183 thousand hectares were sown in Zhambyl region, 102.5 thousand hectares in Almaty, and 47 thousand hectares were sown in the Turkestan region.

As of April 18, the area sown with corn amounted to 3.3 thousand hectares, while the planned area for this crop is 152.3 thousand hectares.

The sowing of oilseeds on a specified date was carried out on an area of 103.4 thousand hectares, which is 3.6% of the plan. The planned area for this crop is 2.86 million hectares.

Kazakhstan is the largest producer of grain crops in Central Asia, and in 2021, the country has successfully completed its plan for spring grain sowing. This achievement demonstrates the stable development of the agricultural sector and the effectiveness of state support measures. Moreover, increasing grain production contributes to strengthening the country’s economy and its position in the global market. Spring grain sowing is one of the key stages in grain production, and the successful completion of the plan speaks to the prospects of Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector.
