Seed Quality Control in Kazakhstan Is Strengthening: Farmers Increasingly Need Their Own Grain Analysis
Since 2026, state-funded seed testing has been отменено in Kazakhstan, meaning farmers are now responsible for testing seed material at their own expense.
At the same time, government control over the seed industry is becoming stricter, with a new department established within the State Agro-Industrial Inspection Committee to monitor compliance with seed legislation.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, the total demand for seeds this season amounts to 2.3 million tons. Under these new conditions, equipment for fast and accurate grain quality control is becoming increasingly important for farms and laboratories.
One such solution is the Granomat Plus moisture, temperature, and test weight analyzer manufactured by Pfeuffer.
The instrument allows quick determination of:
- moisture;
- temperature;
- grain test weight.
Granomat Plus works with whole grain, provides accurate results, includes a built-in printer, and fully automates the measurement process. The analyzer is suitable for grain, legumes, oilseeds, and malt analysis.
Using modern rapid-analysis equipment helps farmers efficiently control seed quality, reduce storage risks, and manage sowing campaigns with greater confidence.
