The RAKORAF CEE automatic sampler is designed for the rapid sampling of various types of agricultural crops from open vehicles. A single sampling cycle takes around 40 seconds, enabling efficient handling of a high volume of traffic.

The selected samples are automatically delivered to the laboratory for further analysis and quality control. Sampling can be carried out whilst the vehicle is on the weighbridge, without the vehicle having to stop.

How the Rakoraf CEE automatic sampler works

The Rakoraf CEE is fitted with a telescopic boom with a horizontal rotation range of 0° to 350°, meaning that a single sampler can serve two parallel receiving lines.

When the probe is inserted into the body of a vehicle or car trailer, the grain enters the pneumatic conveying system and is transported to a receiving container located in the laboratory.

Precise sampling throughout the entire depth of the embankment

Rakoraf CEE uses the Convac sampling system, which eliminates the ‘vacuum cleaner effect’. Thanks to the design of the probe, the sample is taken consistently and in a uniform volume, regardless of how long it remains in the grain mass.

A sample of approximately 500 g is taken from every metre of the pile’s depth. The probe travels the entire depth of the grain mass — from the top layer to the bottom of the body. This is particularly important when assessing the quality of a batch, as fine impurities may be concentrated at the bottom of the pile.

Health and safety at work

The swivel joint protects the sampler and the vehicle from damage should the vehicle start moving prematurely whilst sampling is in progress.

All Rakoraf models are fitted with slip clutches to prevent damage to the motor under heavy loads. Sensors monitor the upper and lower positions of the probe, whilst a limiter sets the permissible range of boom rotation.

Convenient remote control

The sampler is operated using a handheld control panel. The operator can monitor the equipment’s main movements simultaneously:

    1. vertical movement of the probe up and down;
    2. horizontal rotation of the boom;

Adjusting the probe’s penetration force allows you to work with grain and other products with high moisture content.

Reliability and ease of maintenance

The electrical panel and gear motor are easily accessible for maintenance and are protected from the elements.

The Rakoraf CEE design does not require complex routine maintenance — there are just four lubrication points for the main mechanisms.

Standard scope of supply

  • Sampler — telescopic boom, gear motors, turbine, support and sampling probe.
  • PVC pipe — for supplying air and for the pneumatic transport of the collected sample.
  • Electrical control panel — for controlling the operation of the sampler.
  • Cables and wiring — for connecting and operating the equipment.
  • Collection container — for collecting and subsequently transferring the sampled material.

Rakoraf Assembly and Installation

To install the Rakoraf CEE automatic sampler, simple preparatory work must be carried out in accordance with the installation drawings provided. The main requirement is to prepare a foundation measuring 900 × 900 mm with anchor bolts for securing the equipment.

The height of the foundation is calculated taking into account the height of the vehicle’s side and the length of the sampling probe. The standard length of the probe is 2.5 metres. Where required, 2.2-metre or 3-metre versions are available.

The standard Rakoraf configuration enables the selected sample to be transported pneumatically over a distance of up to 20 metres.

Rakoraf is certified by the State Standardisation Service and the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Ukraine. Around 200 Rakoraf samplers are in operation across Ukraine, which confirms the practical experience gained from using the equipment.

Optional accessories for the Rakoraf CEE

If required, the Rakoraf CEE automatic sampler can be fitted with additional systems:

  • A transport system for delivering samples over a distance of up to 50 metres — If the distance is increased, the sample may dry out and become damaged.
  • Excess sample return system.
  • VARIO 2H sample divider with a switch unit for automatic start and stop.
  • CCTV system for the sampling area.
  • A CCTV system for the sampling area, designed for remote control of the sampler.
  • A combined video surveillance system for the site and the sampling area, designed for remote control of the sampler.
