The forecasts of the US Department of Agriculture for export and production of wheat in Kazakhstan remained the same

Forecasts from the US Department of Agriculture about the volume of exports and wheat production in Kazakhstan remained the same. In the current agricultural year, wheat production is planned at 14 million tons.

It should be recalled that this forecast was made in April this year. The previous forecast was 800 thousand tons more, but in April it was reduced to 14 million tons, and it remains the same to this day. The reason for the decrease in the projected production level is a decrease in the number of sown areas. The export volumes of wheat from Kazakhstan, according to the forecast, will be 8 million tons, which is approximately equal to the indicator of the past year.

In addition, the forecast for barley production corresponds to the level of the current season and will amount to 3.3 million tons, while export volumes are planned at the level of 1.1 million tons.

The USDA report contained forecasts for wheat production and exports in Kazakhstan for 2018. According to the report, it is expected that wheat production in the country will increase by 2% compared to the previous year, while the volume of exports will remain the same.
