Consumption of cereals in the world will amount to 2.61 billion tons

The latest forecast for grain consumption in the world indicates that the planned consumption level will amount to 2.61 billion tons, which is 0.2% higher than the forecast of the previous report and 3.6% higher than the previous year’s report. The forecast changed due to increased consumption of corn and wheat.

Such information was provided by the FAO.

The forecast for wheat consumption in the current MY is 736.4 million tons. The increase in the forecasted level of consumption of this crop is due to the growth of industrial consumption of wheat.

The forecast for feed grain consumption was also increased by 2.5 million tons and now stands at 1.37 billion tons, which is due to the increase in corn consumption in the EU and Asia. The volume of maize consumption will be 600 million tons, which is 3.1% more than the figure of the previous year.

Grain crops are among the most important products in the global economy. According to forecasts, grain consumption in the world will continue to grow in the coming years and reach 2.61 billion tons by 2027. This is due to population growth and increased consumption of grain-containing foods. However, there are other factors that influence grain consumption. For example, the economic growth of developing countries such as China and India increases the consumption of meat, which in turn leads to an increase in the consumption of feed grains. In addition, climate change and environmental problems can also affect the production and consumption of grain crops. Overall, grain consumption in the world will continue to grow, but changes in regional consumption and production factors could affect its dynamics in the future.
