The export of wheat from Ukraine to Malaysia is growing
During the first six months of the current MY, 89.2 thousand tons of wheat were exported to Malaysia, which exceeds the indicator for the whole previous MY by 2.1 times. During the entire 2016/17 MY 42.6 thousand tons were exported from Ukraine to this country.
Such information was provided by APK-Inform.
The report says that if the export rates do not decrease, but stay at the same level, then it is possible to achieve the results of 2015/16 marketing year, when the wheat exports amounted to 184.6 thousand tons.
This trend is due to the fact than the main wheat exporters to Malaysia have reduced the production of this crop. Therefore, Australia has reduced wheat production by 29%, Canada by 5% and the USA by 25%. Because of this situation, Malaysia begins to buy wheat in alternative markets.
It should be recalled that in 2017, 17.31 million tons of wheat were exported to international markets from Ukraine, and the amount of supplies reached the level of 2.76 billion dollars.
