Grain unloading volume in the ports of Greater Odessa is growing
Last week, the ports of Greater Odessa recorded a further increase in the rate of grain unloading. According to Valery Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Work of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, as of August 21, the average daily unloading rate was 1,125 wagons, which is 77 units more than a week earlier.
At the same time, the number of wagons with grain heading towards the ports of Greater Odessa has also increased. Over the week, the figure increased by 638 units, reaching 5,992 wagons per day. The average daily load of wagons in this direction has also increased – to 1,245 wagons per day.
At the same time, less grain cargo is moving to the ports of the Danube. The number of wagons in this direction has decreased by 97 units and is only 77 wagons per day. At the same time, the average daily volume of their unloading has increased slightly – to 61 wagons.
Analysts note that the increase in the pace of work of the ports of Greater Odessa is due not only to the growth of cargo flow, but also to the use of modern technological solutions. In particular, container unloaders allow for the effective processing of large batches of grain, minimizing time costs and increasing the speed of transshipment. This provides more stable logistics and contributes to the development of agricultural exports of Ukraine.
