Volumes of rapeseed foreign supplies from Ukraine decreased by 94%
In February of this year, 8 thousand tons were shipped abroad from Ukraine, which is almost 95% less than in January of this year, when 150 thousand tons were exported.

During the period from July to February of the current marketing season, 2.43 million tons of rapeseed were exported from Ukraine, which is 17% more than last season.
Experts predict the export volumes of this crop in the amount of 2.5 million tons, which wil be the maximum figure for the last 10 years. And if this figure is achieved, this will be the second largest record after the year 2008/09.
In 2019, the volume of rapeseed exports from Ukraine dropped by 94% compared to the previous year. The reason for such a decrease was unfavorable weather conditions affecting rapeseed yields, as well as growing competition in global markets. This creates significant challenges for Ukrainian agricultural producers, who must find new ways to increase productivity and competitiveness of their crops. This may involve the implementation of new technologies and cultivation methods, as well as active exploration of new markets. However, given the instability of global markets, Ukrainian agricultural producers also need to focus on strengthening the domestic market and finding new consumers within the country.
