Ukraine is one of the largest producers of grain and cereal crops in the world. In 2018/2019, the volume of grain exports from Ukraine reached a record high of 33.3 million tons, which is 27.5% higher than the previous season. This is a significant improvement for the Ukrainian economy, as grain is one of the country’s main export products. However, record-high export volumes may lead to lower prices on the global market, which could negatively impact the income of Ukrainian producers. Additionally, increasing grain exports may lead to a reduction in stocks on the domestic market, which could lead to higher grain prices in Ukraine.
