The export volume of sunflower meal from Ukraine reached a record high
In December last year, the largest amount of sunflower meal for the month was supplied abroad, namely, 580.000 tons, which is 40% more than during the same period last year.

Since the beginning of the current MY, the export volumes of this crop have reached 1.560.000 tons, which is 3% more than last year and is the maximum export volume in the reporting period.
The main importer of this product from Ukraine is China, with a volume of purchase in the reporting period of 470 thousand tons, whereas during the entire last marketing year only 152 thousand tons were supplied to this country.
Also, the volumes of supplies to Vietnam, India, Saudi Arabia and other countries increased.
The volume of sunflower meal exports from Ukraine reached a record level in 2018, exceeding 5 million tons, which is 16% higher than the previous year. The increase in sunflower meal exports is an important step for the development of Ukraine’s economy and strengthening its position in the global agricultural market. Sunflower meal is used as livestock feed, as well as in the production of biodiesel and other products. The growth of sunflower meal exports contributes to the improvement of the economic situation in Ukraine and the creation of new jobs. However, possible risks such as changes in demand for sunflowers on the global market and changes in weather conditions that may affect crop yields should be taken into account. Nevertheless, Ukraine continues to increase its exports of sunflower meal and develop its economy in this area.
