The amount of grain in the bins of Ukraine amounted to 19.000.000 t
According to information from State Statistics Committee, the amount of grain in the bins of Ukraine on August 1, 2018 reached 19.000.000 t, which is less than the figure for the same date last year by 12.8%. The amount of stored grain in the past year amounted to 21.900.000 t of grain crops.
The amount of wheat stocks was slightly more than 13.000.000 t, which is 11.3% less than in the previous year.
The amount of barley stocks was 1.000.000 t, which is 19.8% more than in the previous year.
The amount of corn stocks was 2.500.000 t, which is 18% more than in the previous year.
Grain purchases in Ukraine exceeded expectations, reaching 19 million tons. This could allow the country to increase its exports and lower prices on the domestic market. However, experts note that increasing grain reserves could lead to some problems, including increased costs for storage and loss of quality due to improper storage. In addition, competition on the global grain market is constantly increasing, which may reduce demand for Ukrainian products. Overall, balancing exports and the domestic market is an important factor in the development of agriculture and the economy in Ukraine.
