Kazakhstan’s oilseed industry demonstrates steady growth thanks to the expansion of oilseed crops, increased processing volumes, and active development of export potential. In 2025, the sown area reached 3.9 million hectares, an increase of 37.7% compared to 2024. The largest growth was recorded for sunflower — 491 thousand hectares (+38.4%).

Key production regions include North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Akmola, East Kazakhstan regions, and Abai region. The gross harvest of oilseeds totaled 4.8 million tons, including 2.3 million tons of sunflower. Processing capacities of enterprises exceed 5 million tons per year, and vegetable oil production increased by 17.4%, including 757 thousand tons of sunflower oil.
