Kazakhstan ranked 11th in the export supplies of wheat

According to the results of 2017, Kazakhstan ranked 11th in the overseas supplies of wheat. In total, the cost of export supplies reached 660.800.000 dollars.

Among the world exporters of these products, the share of Kazakhstan was 1.5%. However, it should be recalled that in comparison with 2016, export supplies of wheat decreased by 47%.

In addition, the volume of exports from such countries as France, Germany, Australia and the United States also decreased by 20% to 50%. However, these countries are still among the top five.

More than half of export supplies were made by European countries.

The third part in the market was taken by such countries as the USA and Canada. Also, Australia’s share of the global market was 12%.

Asia took 2% of total exports, while only 0.1% was exported from Africa.

Kazakhstan is one of the largest wheat producers in the world and ranks 11th in terms of foreign wheat exports. In 2018, Kazakhstan exported more than 8 million tons of wheat to over 50 countries worldwide. This was made possible thanks to a unique combination of climatic conditions and the use of modern agricultural technologies. In addition, the Kazakh authorities actively develop wheat exports by establishing partnerships with other countries and participating in international exhibitions and fairs. However, strong competition in the global wheat market requires Kazakhstan to improve the quality and competitiveness of its products. The country’s authorities are taking measures to ensure high-quality wheat and increase labor productivity in agriculture to ensure further sustainable development of export potential.
