Kazakhstan – Agriculture and Infrastructure

Kazakhstan is actively increasing the potential of the agricultural sector, while simultaneously modernizing the transport infrastructure to increase the country’s export capacity. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the first half of 2025, the volume of grain exports increased by 43% and reached more than 2.4 million tons, which indicates the growing competitiveness of Kazakh products on the world market.
One of the main areas of development has become deep processing of agricultural raw materials. The Chinese corporation Fufeng Group is investing about $ 800 million in the construction of a corn processing plant in Zhambyl region. The project will create hundreds of new jobs, as well as bring Kazakh products to new markets in Asia and the Middle East.

In parallel, the government is implementing a large-scale program to modernize the transport infrastructure – “Nurly Zhol”, within the framework of which more than 12 thousand km of highways have already been upgraded. New logistics routes through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey allow Kazakhstan to reduce its dependence on transit through Russia and provide a safe and reliable export corridor to Europe and Asia.

In addition, new state support programs are being introduced for the dairy and meat industries. Subsidizing producers, developing cooperatives and stimulating domestic processing of products are key steps to strengthen food security and increase self-sufficiency.

Kazakhstan is confidently moving towards creating a high-tech agro-industrial complex that is capable not only of supplying the domestic market, but also of strengthening the country’s position in the global agricultural arena.
