Kazakhstan Increases Agricultural Exports to $5.1 Billion
In 2024, Kazakhstan demonstrated growth in agricultural exports, reaching $5.1 billion, which is 3.9% more in physical terms compared to the previous year. The total export volume amounted to 16.1 million tons, according to the World of NAN publication.
Grain crops remain an important part of exports: 8.1 million tons of grain were delivered during the year. Since September 2024, the new harvest has been actively shipped to the countries of Central Asia, China, Afghanistan and Europe – a total of 6.3 million tons, which is 53% higher than last year’s figures. It should be noted that there was a significant increase in deliveries to Iran – 741 thousand tons (17 times more), as well as to Azerbaijan – 408 thousand tons.
The export of processed products also increased – by 14.9%, reaching $2.7 billion. The share of such products in the total export volume increased from 42% to 52%. Key products are vegetable oil, flour confectionery, sausages, beef and lamb.
Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin, noting the growth in sunflower oil production and the expansion of areas sown with oilseeds, instructed the Ministry of Agriculture to develop measures to support sunflower seed producers in order to strengthen this promising industry.
The Importance of Stationary Grain Dryers
Kazakhstan’s success in the international market is largely due to the improvement in the quality of agricultural products, which is impossible without modern technology. Stationary grain dryers play a key role in this process. This equipment allows for efficient and uniform drying of grain, preserving its nutritional properties and preventing spoilage given the large volumes of the harvest. This is important in the context of increasing exports, when product quality requirements are becoming increasingly stringent. The use of such dryers helps to reduce crop losses, increase its competitiveness and ensure stable supplies to foreign markets. This is especially important for countries with a changeable climate, such as Kazakhstan. Investments in this technology are the key to further growth of the agricultural sector and strengthening the country’s position as a reliable supplier of agricultural products.
