731.000 t of grain crops were exported from the Ukrainian sea ports

Over the past week, 731.000 t of crops were exported from the sea ports, which is 6% less than a week earlier.

Such information was provided by APK-Inform.

The report says that despite the fact that the total quantity of the transhipped grain has slightly decreased, the amount of wheat has almost doubled and amounted to 445.000 t, while in the previous week only 225.000 t were exported. However, the volumes of corn and barley supplies decreased significantly. The amount of corn transhipped was 273.000 t and the amount of barley was 2.870 t.

The biggest amount of grain was transhipped from the Odessa port, namely 261.000 t. The second and third places were occupied by the port of Nikolaev and the port of Chernomorsk with the shipment volumes of 199.000 t and 147.000 t respectively.

The geography of grain exports from the ports is as follows. The biggest amount of grain was delivered to Spain (144.000 t). The second and third places were occupied by Jordan and Belgium with import volumes of 53.000 tons and 45.000 t respectively.

It should be recalled that the export of grain from the beginning of the current MY reached a level of 25.88 million tons.

In 2018, 731 thousand tons of grain were exported from Ukrainian seaports. The main exporters are countries in Asia and Africa. Such growth in grain exports can contribute to increased export earnings and strengthen Ukraine’s foreign economic ties. However, there are also risks associated with changes in global prices for grain crops, as well as competition from other exporting countries. This could lead to a decline in profitability for Ukrainian exporters and worsen the country’s overall economic situation.
