Export supplies of sunflower meal in current MY from Ukraine
During the period from September to January of the current MY, about 2 million tons of sunflower meal was exported from Ukraine, while during the same period of the previous MY, 1.94 million tons were delivered to international markets.

During this period, the biggest amount of sunflower meal was delivered to Spain (0.28 million tons), France (0.25 million tons), Belarus (0.24 million tons), Poland (0.19 million tons) and the Netherlands (0.14 million tons).
Also, during the specified period, a new sales market opened for Ukraine – China. Slightly more than 18 thousand tons of meal were supplied to this country.
It should be recalled that the maximum amount was supplied to China in January. In January, 14 thousand tons were supplied to China, whereas in December only 4 thousand tons were supplied to this country.
Ukrainian exports of sunflower meal reached 100,000 tons in the current month, which is 10% higher than the previous month. The main buyers of Ukrainian sunflower meal are countries in the European Union and the Asia-Pacific region. The increase in sunflower meal exports could contribute to higher export revenues and the strengthening of Ukraine’s foreign economic ties. However, there are also risks associated with increased competition in the global market and lower prices for sunflower meal. This could have a negative impact on the economic situation of some producers in Ukraine, but it could also lead to an overall increase in sunflower meal production and exports.
