Export of grain from Ukraine reached a level of 33.8 million tons
The grain export figures as of May 2 of the current year reached a level of 33.8 million tons, which is 3.4 million tons less than the figure of the past year.
Such information was provided by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
Wheat supplies to foreign markets during the specified period reached a level of slightly more than 15 million tons, which is 0.7 million tons lower than last year.
In addition, since the beginning of 2017/18 MY, Ukraine managed to supply 4.14 million tons of barley to the foreign markets, which is 0.99 million tons less than the figure of the previous year. The export supplies of maize reached a level of almost 14.4 million tons, which is also 1.67 million tons less than last year’s figure.
It should also be added that the rye exports during the specified period reached a level of 32.7 thousand tons.
Ukraine is one of the largest grain producers in the world, with a wide range of grain crops, including wheat, barley, maize, and other types of grain.
One of the main factors for the success of Ukrainian grain exports is the high quality of Ukrainian grain. Ukrainian grain crops are known for their high protein and gluten content, as well as excellent taste and baking properties.
The main consumers of Ukrainian grain are European and Asian countries. In recent years, grain exports from Ukraine have been actively developing, making Ukraine one of the leading players in the global grain market.
However, experts note the need for further modernization and development of grain production in Ukraine, as well as improving the logistics infrastructure for more efficient work in the export market.
