Grain exports by Ukrzaliznytsia decreased by 30% in 2025
According to the online meeting of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia with agricultural market participants held on June 5, 2025, the volume of grain transported by rail for export in the first five months of the year decreased by 30% compared to the same period in 2024. In total, 12.743 million tons of grain cargo were transported by rail during the specified period, which is 32% less than last year. Of these, 11.351 million tons are for export transportation.
In addition to grains, a decrease was recorded in the export of oil (695.7 thousand tons, -10%) and cake and meal (-6%). Such indicators indicate the logistical challenges faced by the agricultural sector of Ukraine, in particular due to border restrictions, port congestion and the need for infrastructure modernization.
The role of modern equipment in optimizing exports
Modern equipment, in particular container unloaders offered by 3S Company, plays an important role in increasing transportation efficiency and reducing losses in the logistics chain. Devices such as container unloaders allow you to:
- Speed up processes: automated unloaders reduce the processing time of grain cargo at elevators and grain terminals, which is especially important in peak load conditions.
- Reduce losses: accurate and careful unloading minimizes damage to grain, preserving its quality and market value.
- Compliance with standards: the equipment meets international requirements for handling bulk cargo, which facilitates exports to EU countries and Asia.
So, the use of container unloaders at terminals such as Mostyska allows you to optimize grain loading, reducing railcar downtime and increasing throughput. This is especially important in conditions of reduced export volumes, as effective logistics can partially compensate for the reduction in transportation.
The 30% reduction in grain exports by Ukrzaliznytsia in 2025 reflects the difficulties associated with logistics and external restrictions. However, the introduction of modern elevator equipment, in particular container unloaders from 3S Company, can significantly increase the efficiency of cargo handling, reduce losses and support the competitiveness of the Ukrainian agricultural sector in the global market.
