World rape export amounted to 17.5 million tons
World rapeseed export in 2017 amounted to 17.5 million tons, which is a record for now. In comparison, last year the world rape export volumes were 2.8 million tons less. The increase in exports was due to the increased demand for this type of crops in such regions as Asia, the EU and Mexico.

The main exporting countries of rape are Canada, Ukraine and Australia. In total, these countries exported 16.8 million tons, compared to 13.9 million tons last year. The main importing countries were the EU (import volume amounted to 5.6 million tons), China (imports volume amounted to 4.6 million tons), Mexico (imports amounted to 1.7 million tons) and Japan (imports amounted to 2.5 million tons).
Compared with 2016, the increase in imports to these countries amounted to: to the EU – 2.2 million tons, to China – 1 million tons, to Mexico – 200.000 tons, to Japan – 100.000 tons.
