The export volume of oilseeds from Ukraine from July to October amounted to 2 million tons

From July to October 2017/18 marketing year, exports volume of oilseeds amounted to 2 million tons. During the same period of the last marketing year, the export volume amounted to 1.1 million tons, which is 0.9 million tons less than during the current marketing year.

Such data was provided by the analytical company ProAgro.

Also, analysts have estimated the amount of exported rape. From July to October of the 2017/18 marketing year, the rapeseeds exports volume amounted to 1.68 million tons, while during the same period last year this figure was 0.7 million tons. The volume of exported soybean amounted to 0.3 million tons and 0.4 million tons in this and the previous marketing year respectively.

According to analyst, the export geography remained unchanged: Asia (the amount of exports was 5.53 billion dollars), the European Union (the amount of exports was 4.2 billion dollars) and Africa (the amount of exports was about 2 billion dollars).

The main exported products are plant products and vegetable oils.

Among oilseeds, sunflower oil accounted for the largest export volume, which during this period amounted to 1.8 million tons. Also, a significant amount of export was noted for soybean oil – 141 thousand tons. Other types of oilseeds, such as rapeseed and linseed oils, had lower export figures.

The export of oilseeds is one of the key areas of the Ukrainian economy, so the country’s government actively supports the development of this industry. Due to its geographical location and favorable climatic conditions, Ukraine has a huge potential for the production of oilseeds and their export.

In general, the export of oilseeds in Ukraine continues to grow, which indicates the stability of the country’s economic development. Maintaining high levels of oilseed exports is one of the key factors in ensuring the sustainability of the Ukrainian economy and improving the lives of its citizens.
