Export of agricultural products from Ukraine in 2017 amounted to 17.8 billion dollars
During the 12 months of 2017, the export of agricultural products amounted to 17.8 billion dollars. This result could not beat the result of the record 2012, when the export of agrarian products reached a level of 17.9 billion dollars, but surely occupies an honourable second place since Ukraine gained independence.
Such data was provided by the Institute of Agrarian Economics.
The report says that the share of agricultural products in total exports was 41%. Which allows to keep the leadership in exporting goods produced by this industry.
Representatives of the Institute note that record exports, despite a slight increase in import volumes, led to a record surplus, which amounted to 13.3 billion dollars.
The main products that were exported are grains and oilseeds, as well as sunflower oil.
Also, this year Ukraine beat all records on export of grain crops. 41.8 million tons were supplied from Ukraine to foreign markets. The structure of export is as follows: maize (19.4 million tons), wheat (17.3 million tons). Next comes barley and soy. The export of these crops is 4.9 and 2.9 million tons, respectively.
