2.2 million tons of grain will be exported from Kazakhstan by the end of the season
By the end of the current marketing season (July 1), it is planned to export about 2.200.000 tons of grain crops.
The annual export potential of Kazakhstan ranges from 8 to 9 million tons. This year, 5.8 million tons of grain have already been supplied to foreign markets and, according to the forecast, another 2.200.000 tons will be exported, which will give the total export volume of 8 million tons.
According to the information provided, the volume of grain in storage will be sufficient for both the domestic needs of the country and for foreign supplies.
To date, 8.3 million tons of wheat is stored in Kazakhstan’s bins, of which 0.69 million tons should be allocated for food, 1.6 million tons for seeds, 0.73 million tons for fodder, and 128 thousand tons more will be needed for processing.
Kazakhstani farmers continue to increase grain production, which is reflected in the growth of exports. By the end of the current season, it is planned to export 2.2 million tons of grain, which is 19% higher than last year’s figure. One of the factors in the increase in export volumes has been the development of logistics infrastructure, which has reduced transportation costs to ports. However, grain exports remain a risky business, associated with fluctuations in prices on world markets, as well as changes in legislation and requirements for product quality. In the future, to develop the sector, it is necessary to continue investing in new technologies and production methods, as well as actively seeking new markets, which will strengthen Kazakhstan’s position in the global grain market.
