Kazakhstan agrarians are concerned about the condition of winter crops

The second half of January was marked by unstable temperature conditions, and in case the temperature goes beyond the specified norms, there is a risk of freezing of winter crops. So, in the south, now the temperature is one or two degrees above norm, but in other regions, the readings of thermometer vary within 1-5 degrees beyond norm.

In the eastern regions of Kazakhstan there is a decrease in temperature at night to -35, which, together with the absence of snow cover may cause the freezing of winter crops.

A similar situation is observed in the southern regions, although the weather conditions are expected to become worse in a few days. But the fact that there is absolutely no snow in the fields, which serves as a protection, can negatively affect the condition of winter crops.

In the southern and eastern regions of the country, the minimum temperature of the ground at a depth of 3 cm was -4-5 degrees С in the east and +1-3 degrees С in the south.

The agricultural industry in Kazakhstan is facing challenges related to the state of winter crops, and farmers are expressing serious concern about this. Winter crops such as wheat, barley, rapeseed and others play an important role in the country’s agriculture, and their successful development is of strategic importance.

Factors such as climate change, adverse weather conditions and plant diseases can adversely affect the health of winter crops. Agrarians of Kazakhstan carefully monitor these factors and take measures to minimize risks.

However, despite the current difficulties, the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan has the potential for development. The introduction of modern technologies, the development of the selection of resistant plant varieties and the improvement of agricultural technology will help to cope with the challenges and ensure the stable development of winter crops.

The state also actively supports the agricultural sector and provides programs and investments for the modernization and development of agriculture. Infrastructure development, advanced training of agricultural specialists and assistance in finding new markets for exporting products are important steps towards a sustainable and prosperous agriculture in Kazakhstan.
